Klaus Dieter Langner was born in Bayreuth/Germany. He studied Molecular Biology and received the PhD. from the University of Cologne in 1986. He started his career at Behring Werke AG in Marburg as a Research Scientist followed by various management positions with increasing responsibilities.
In January 1998 Dr. Langner moved to Grünenthal GmbH as Head of Preclinical Development. In 2000 he became responsible for Global Preclinical R&D with the functions Drug Discovery, Nonclinical Development, Technical Drug Development and the NTE Unit. Since January 2011 Dr. Langner is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Grünenthal Innovation.
