Heinz-Gerd Suelmann was born in Haren / Ems in 1966. He studied Law and received a PhD from University of Münster in 1993. He started his career as a lawyer at BASF SE, Ludwigshafen. Thereafter he held various positions in Human Resources of increasing responsibilities in business, regional and corporate BASF divisions, including Head of Human Resources Asia Pacific and Vice President, Human Resources BASF Styrenics. He spent 8 years of his career abroad. He joined Grünenthal Group in June 2010 and was appointed Executive Vice President in January 2011.
